Charges filed in birthing center burglary

Charges have been filed in the August 18 burglary of Jamaa Birth Village, on Florissant Road. Devonte Rogers, of the 1000 block of Ford Drive in Ferguson, was charged with burglary 2nd degree, a felony. According to the probable cause statement, police responded to an alarm, and found a broken screen and open window. Surveillance showed a man walking away with a television. Police canvassed the area, and located the man in the video, carrying a television. Police say he has been barred from several area businesses for shoplifting.

Bond was set at $30,000 cash only upon his arrest, on August 18. On August 28, bond was reduced to $30,000 with 10% allowed, and on September 7, he posted $3,000 bond and was released.
